About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Airport Ramp Attendant to join our team at Strickland's Auto & Gas. As a key member of our airport operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient handling of cargo and passenger baggage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain ramp-servicing vehicles and equipment to transport cargo and baggage
  • Load and unload cargo and passenger baggage efficiently, adhering to safety protocols and procedures
  • Sort and route cargo and passenger baggage according to instructions and priorities
  • Position passenger loading stairs and operate aircraft cargo doors to facilitate safe and efficient loading and unloading of cargo and passengers
  • Coordinate activities with other work units or departments to ensure seamless airport operations
  • Ensure the smooth operation of computer equipment and machinery, and perform routine maintenance tasks as required
Work Environment

As an Airport Ramp Attendant, you will work in a fast-paced outdoor environment, often at heights, and will be required to lift and move heavy objects up to 23 kg (50 lbs). You will work a regular 35-40 hour week, with opportunities for overtime as needed.

Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience an asset
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks that require lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
