Facilities Maintenance Lead

The Facilities Maintenance Lead role entails directing and managing the efforts of both skilled and unskilled maintenance personnel to guarantee that machinery, structures, and facilities are adequately serviced, repaired, and maintained in accordance with safety regulations and building codes. This position is vital for ensuring that production machinery operates efficiently, adhering to organizational benchmarks while minimizing downtime. Key responsibilities include evaluating projects for adherence to standards, performing safety assessments, and overseeing preventative maintenance initiatives. Furthermore, the Facilities Maintenance Lead will manage the inventory of maintenance supplies, components, and tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and direct maintenance department functions in the absence of the maintenance manager
  • Address employee relations and grievances, conduct departmental meetings, and assess the performance of maintenance staff
  • Ensure the availability of essential parts and materials, supervise PM&PD activities, and maintain PMX software and documentation
  • Request quotes from contractors, mentor team members, and verify that contractors possess the necessary documentation
  • Review completed inspection reports, analyze assembly diagrams, and formulate maintenance schedules and budgets
  • Coordinate job responsibilities with team members, colleagues, and subcontractors

Qualifications

  • Completion of secondary education or equivalent
  • Trade certification in a relevant field and Maintenance Management Professional (MMP) certification is preferred
  • A minimum of five years of experience in a maintenance machining setting, with at least two years in a supervisory capacity
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft and other software applications
  • Commitment to ongoing education to remain informed about industry advancements and regulations
  • Familiarity with fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, and relevant fire codes
