Job Title: Long Haul Truck Driver

Blue Rock Transport is seeking a skilled Long Haul Truck Driver to join our team. As a key member of our transportation team, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods and materials across the country.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Route Planning: Plan and adjust routes based on changing conditions to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
  • Loading and Unloading: Load and unload goods safely and efficiently.
  • Permits and Documents: Obtain special permits and documents required for international routes.
  • Vehicle Operation: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Oversee the condition of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform preventive maintenance to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.
  • Communication: Receive and relay information to central dispatch.
  • Record Keeping: Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
  • Cargo Security: Ensure the safety and security of cargo.
Requirements:
  • Certifications: Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi-trailer trucks).
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience.
  • Language: English.
  • Hours: 40 to 60 hours per week.
Working Conditions:

As a Long Haul Truck Driver, you will be working on the road, driving long distances, and spending time away from home. You will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions quickly to ensure safe and efficient transportation of goods.
