Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Financial Officer to join our team at DSW Canada Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing cheques for payroll, and maintaining general ledgers and financial statements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Payroll Administration: Prepare cheques for payroll and ensure timely payment to employees.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.
  • Accounting and Bookkeeping: Maintain general ledgers, reconcile accounts, and post journal entries.
  • Tax Compliance: Prepare and submit tax returns.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Access, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, Quick Books, and Simply Accounting.
  • Personal Qualities: Ability to work independently, attention to detail, fast-paced environment, overtime required, and tight deadlines.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.

Language and Work Environment

The primary language of work is English. The work environment is a permanent position with 30 to 35 hours per week.
