Fiber Optic and Structured Cabling Technicians

Position Overview:

Tridon Communications is expanding its workforce and is in search of skilled Fiber and Structured Cabling Technicians. This role is crucial for the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications cabling systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble, install, and maintain structured cabling systems, including fiber optic networks.
  • Execute cabling projects for commercial and industrial facilities, as well as temporary setups.
  • Perform fiber optic installations, including splicing and testing with advanced tools such as OTDR and Power Meters.

Required Experience:

  • Proficient in installing structured cabling components (Cat 5E, Cat 6, Cat 6A, Fiber Optic).
  • Experience in servicing and troubleshooting communication circuits.
  • Ability to read and interpret telecommunication schematics and specifications.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Valid Alberta Class 5 Operators License or equivalent.
  • Safety-oriented mindset with the ability to pass drug and alcohol tests as required.
  • Technical diploma or equivalent in a related field is preferred.
  • Relevant certification training from TE Connectivity, Commscope Systimax, Belden, or Corning is advantageous.
  • Strong customer service skills and a team-oriented attitude.

Physical Requirements:

  • Capability to perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and lifting equipment up to 50lbs.
  • Willingness to work at heights and in various environments.
