Job Opportunity:
The Lac La Ronge Indian Band's Education Department is seeking a qualified individual to fill a full-time term position as a Land-Based Cultural Assistant based out of the Youth Haven in La Ronge, SK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement cultural activities for land-based students;
- Assist in planning and executing cultural events and traditional food preparation;
- Provide cultural teachings and support to students;
- Engage with students and ensure their safety at all times;
- Arrange transportation for students as needed;
- Respond to inquiries about the Cultural Camp's purpose and procedures;
- Assist in gathering materials and tools for Culture Camp;
- Organize and participate in cultural activities;
- Provide school and student support to ensure student safety.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 or equivalent;
- Ability to work with children with various skills and abilities;
- Ensure student safety;
- Ability to maintain confidentiality;
- Ability to lift heavy objects;
- Prefer to have or willing to obtain First Aid Certificate;
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written;
- Must provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check.
