St. John's Riverside Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Service Representative to join our team. As a Patient Service Representative, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our patients and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet incoming patients in a friendly and professional manner
- Instruct patients on how to complete paperwork and obtain complete and accurate information for billing and demographics purposes
- Update patient demographics and insurance information as needed
- Answer incoming calls in a timely and professional manner
- Provide accurate information to callers in a customer-oriented manner
- Rout calls to the intended recipient in a timely and accurate manner
- Complete administrative duties to ensure a smooth patient visit, accurate billing, and a clutter-free and organized front office
- Collect co-pays at the time of visit and verify eligibility for every visit
- Process referrals and authorization for tests as needed
- Confirm appointments for the next day and locate patient charts
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalency required; college preferred
- Knowledgeable in medical health insurances
- Basic medical terminology and computer knowledge
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Experience with a high-volume call center
- Minimum 2 years of registration experience within a medical setting (doctor's office, hospital)
- Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) preferred
- Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for travel throughout Westchester County for business purposes
