Heavy Equipment Technician Job Description

At Manulift, we're seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team at our Stoney Creek branch. As a key member of our Service department, you'll play a critical role in diagnosing and repairing our machines, ensuring they're running safely and efficiently.

We're a Canadian leader in telescopic forklifts, and we're expanding nationally. This means you'll have the opportunity to work on a wide range of equipment models and be part of a team that's passionate about innovation and customer satisfaction.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on our equipment, adhering to the highest standards of safety and quality.
  • Complete work orders electronically and ensure accurate coding for invoicing purposes.
  • Utilize electronic resources to look up parts, manuals, and schematics.
  • Order necessary parts to complete repairs.
  • Perform regular safety checks on equipment.
  • Implement recalls and service bulletins.
  • Collaborate with the Shop Foreman to address delays and challenges.
  • Maintain accurate records of services and work in progress.
  • Ensure a clean and organized workspace.
Requirements and Skills:
  • A relevant license (421A, 310T, 310S) is considered an asset.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience reading electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electric, and electronic systems.
  • Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High comfort level using a computer daily.
  • Good organization and time management skills.
  • Results-focused and customer service-oriented.
