About the Opportunity

Westinghouse Electric Company LLC is a leading supplier of custom equipment, process systems, and engineering consultant services for the Nuclear industry in Canada. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Specialist to join our innovative team.

Job Summary

The Senior Project Specialist will support Project Managers and Project Control Specialists in project set-up and kick-off activities to ensure alignment with Westinghouse PMO governance and best practices. They will provide leadership and support throughout the life of the projects for re-baselining, data checks, and internal compliance audits, and consolidated portfolio level reporting and monitoring.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Project Managers in project set-up and kick-off to align with WEC PMO governance
  • Work with Project Managers to develop initial project schedule, lead resource loading, and project baselining activities
  • Support project re-baselining as required throughout the project
  • Ensure project WBS alignment between SAP cost and P6 schedule and data accuracy to support project EVM
  • Conduct periodic project audits to ensure compliance to procedures and identify areas for improvement
  • Recommend and support corrective actions and lessons learned implementation to improve overall portfolio performance
  • Support development of procedures and standard practice for project cost-schedule integration
  • Generate consolidated weekly schedule lookahead reports to support alignment with cross-functional department resource planning
  • Prepare regular schedule compliance reports to monitor trending for missed tasks/delays
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering
  • 8+ years of experience in Project Controls and/or Project Management, with a preference for Canadian Nuclear Industry experience
  • PMP is an asset but not required
  • Experienced in Primavera (P6) scheduling
  • Experienced in Earned Value Management
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Project management experience
  • Experience in developing processes and procedures
  • SAP or other enterprise software experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, clear and concise
  • Aptitude towards a fast-paced work environment and decision making
