- Medication Management: Prescribe and administer medications and treatments as needed, while ensuring patient safety and adherence to medical guidelines.
- Patient Education: Provide patients with clear and concise information about their health, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications to promote overall well-being.
- Coordination of Care: Work with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care, including referrals to specialists and other medical services.
- Counseling and Support: Offer emotional support and counseling to patients and their families, addressing a wide range of health and lifestyle issues.
- Education: Degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or optometry from a recognized institution.
- Experience: Experience in family medicine or a related field is an asset.
- Certifications: College of Family Physicians Certification (CCFP), Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada (LMCC), and licensure by provincial or territorial authorities.
- Language: Fluency in English is required.
