We are seeking a dedicated Museum Curator to join our team at the Red Lake Regional Heritage Centre. This is a permanent role that requires a commitment to preserving and promoting our cultural heritage.
Work Environment- Work Language: English
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Education: Bachelor's degree
- Experience: 3 to 5 years in a relevant field
- Advise on the acquisition of artifacts for the museum and gallery.
- Oversee the restoration and conservation of collections.
- Manage and mentor a team of technicians, assistants, and interns.
- Evaluate artifacts to determine suitable restoration methods.
- Conduct research on the origins and historical significance of items.
- Develop educational themes and narratives for exhibitions.
- Provide expert guidance on the display and preservation of artifacts.
- Coordinate the organization and presentation of collections.
- Consult with other institutions and private collectors.
- Ensure the proper conservation and circulation of exhibits.
- Investigate innovative conservation techniques.
You will be responsible for supervising a small team of 3-4 individuals.
Qualifications- Must pass a criminal record check.
- Ability to work under pressure with attention to detail.
- Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Physical capability to perform tasks requiring bending and kneeling.
