Job Summary

This posting will be used to fill 1 permanent full-time position working 75 bi-weekly. It will establish a 12-month eligibility list which may be used to fill similar positions.

About the Role

The Yukon's Emergency Medical Services (YEMS) team delivers a wide scope of pre-hospital care. We deliver medical interventions, treatments, and critical care in every corner of the Yukon. Leadership, dedication, and partnership guide our work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Employ professional Primary Care Life Support skills to provide pre-hospital emergency and non-emergency medical treatment to the Watson Lake area.
  • Assess patient condition to formulate a treatment plan and initiate emergency interventions and non-emergency care to provide optimal patient wellbeing.
  • Work in environments where there is limited medical support.
Requirements
  • Current PCP licence; Emergency Responders will be considered.
  • Experience delivering pre-hospital medical care at the Primary Care Paramedic level.
  • Experience working in an emergency ambulance service.
  • Clinic based practical experience considered an asset.
  • Experience working in a rural setting is considered an asset.
