Key Responsibilities- Inspect and measure surfaces to be covered
- Measure, cut, and fasten underlay and underpadding
- Prepare flooring plans and scheduling
- Measure, cut, and install carpeting on floors
- Prepare tenders and quotations
- Measure, cut, and install resilient floor coverings
- Prepare and install hardwood floors
- Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings
- Conduct moisture, pH, temperature, and other tests prior to flooring installations
- Estimate costs and materials
- Prepare floors for installations
- Remove existing floor coverings and contaminants
- Employ knee kickers and other equipment to stretch carpeting
- Perform direct glue-down carpet installations
- Perform double-bond carpet installations
- Install outdoor carpets
- Install resilient stair components (special effects for the visually impaired)
- Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in the field
- Valid driver's license
- Own transportation
- Steel-toed safety boots
- Hard hat
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
- Ability to handle heavy loads
- Ability to bend, crouch, and kneel
- Hand-eye coordination
This is a permanent position with a variable schedule. You will be required to work on-site at various locations, including residential and commercial properties.
