Emissions Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Emissions Technician to join our team at Montrose Environmental Group. As an Emissions Technician, you will be responsible for performing day-to-day inspections of components in the Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) Program. This role requires a strong understanding of environmental regulations and a commitment to ensuring compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in the safety culture and maintain a safe working environment
- Use Optical Gas Imaging (OGI) cameras to detect emissions and quantify them
- Complete comprehensive Job Safety Analysis at job sites
- Maintain and use all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Assist in coordinating and navigating to various facilities using maps and GPS
- Perform and document calibration of monitoring instruments as required
- Receive handheld and ensure information is accurate, where applicable
- Comply with all permit and sign-in procedures for sites
- Perform and document field inspections accurately, safely, and efficiently
- Document on leak tags completely and accurately for all leaks found
- Document and report any tag maintenance and inventory discrepancies found in the field
- Document Management of Change and assist to maintain the accuracy of field inventories
- Perform and document drift assessments, where applicable
- Ensure job sites are clean and free of any materials
- Participate in training for career development, safety, and maintaining required certifications
- Perform any other duties assigned by the client or project manager(s)
- MUST have a Diploma/Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Petroleum, Process, Chemical, and Instrumentation) from an accredited College or University
- Knowledge and experience with LDAR-related hardware and tools is considered an asset
- 1+ years in the Oil & Gas industry experience is preferred
- Experience with Workday is beneficial
- Experience with LDAR database software programs is beneficial
- Proficient in MS Office, especially MS Excel
- Valid Driver's License is required with a clean abstract
- First Aid, CPR, H2S Alive, TDG, WHIMS are considered an asset
- Capability to pass background checks and initial and random drug screening
- Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and work from heights
- Ability/willingness to travel across all provinces as well as the US
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
- Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel/management
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Attention to detail
- Able to work independently, managing multiple responsibilities, self-starter, self-motivated
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to think and act strategically and proactively
