Position Summary
The Electrical Technician is responsible for executing various electrical maintenance tasks within a food production facility. Candidates should possess strong electrical and mechanical skills, along with substantial experience in programmable logic controllers. This role operates under the guidance of the Maintenance Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Exhibit meticulous attention to detail with effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Install conduits and wiring systems.
  • Set up a variety of electrical devices and control circuits.
  • Repair, rebuild, troubleshoot, and upgrade electrical machinery.
  • Interpret logic diagrams and comprehend the operational principles of programmable logic controllers.
  • Address PLC and instrumentation issues.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and fulfill work orders.
  • Demonstrate exceptional mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities.
  • Maintain and oversee all electrical and electronic tools and equipment.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven aptitude for problem-solving and diagnostics.
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical and electronic systems.
  • Familiarity with frequency converters, instrumentation, and calibration.
  • Strong judgment and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills (bilingual).
  • Proficient in computer applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Education and Experience
  • Possess a non-construction electrician qualification (License C).
  • Hold a college diploma (DEC) in Industrial Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or Instrumentation and Control.
  • Familiarity with PLC and HMI Rockwell.
  • Experience in an industrial setting, particularly in instrumentation.
Additional Information

  • Comply with local and provincial regulations.
  • Respond to emergency service requests as needed.
  • Capable of performing physical tasks such as climbing, lifting (up to 25 kg), and working in confined spaces.
