Here, you will receive the necessary tools and training to excel in a safe and organized workplace. Our commitment to integrity ensures that you are empowered to address challenges effectively.

As a key player in our daily operations, you will help maintain our reputation as a reliable provider of aviation repair and maintenance services. Collaborate with your colleagues to establish and refine processes that enhance both flight and product efficiency.

In the role of Production Planner/Kit Process Coordinator, you will oversee and synchronize the kitting processes at a business unit or cluster level. This includes the planning, management, and scheduling of Engine/Module Kits and components to fulfill Kitting Plan requirements as outlined in the Estimate Creation process. You will liaise with various departments and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of all component repairs, subcontracts, exchanges, and parts orders to meet kit deadlines for each engine. Your efforts will ensure that kitting equipment and procedures are utilized effectively, facilitating the preparation and distribution of fully kitted engines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the master kitting schedule, balancing work-in-process, resources, and capacity in collaboration with Cell Leaders. Implement necessary adjustments to schedules in response to changes in product delivery timelines.
  • Assist in the preparation of kitting trays while coordinating with team members.
  • Serve as a liaison among production, engineering, purchasing, sales, and customer service to manage and adjust the kitting schedule as needed.
  • Inform management about the status of engine kits in progress, material availability, and routine production challenges to ensure that equipment and materials are supplied as required.
  • Keep accurate and current kit status records for tracking engine kits.
  • Maintain a kitting tracking board that accurately reflects forecasts, job flow, and monthly throughput.
  • Monitor pacing items and expedite follow-ups with vendors or cell leaders regarding all kit components, including exchanges, subcontracts, backorders, internal repairs, and accessories.
  • Establish methods to meet kitting schedules and coordinate activities with other departments and/or subcontractors to fulfill customer requirements.
  • Oversee work in progress to ensure compliance with instructions, contract specifications, and production quality standards.
  • Coordinate daily activities of kitting staff across various tasks, including preparation, assembly, and distribution. Provide guidance, information, and prioritize kitting work schedules.
  • Schedule customer work as needed, manage bottlenecks, and control production factors to ensure balanced workloads and optimal utilization of available capacity.
  • Ensure proper placement of routed and purchased components onto engine kit trays.
  • Generate performance metrics for kitting and recommend operational enhancements.
  • Support and provide planning recommendations to production cell planners/leaders.
  • Contribute to kitting planning policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that equipment and kitting areas are maintained in safe conditions by scheduling necessary repair and maintenance services.
  • Adhere to all safety requirements and promptly report any unsafe practices or conditions.
  • Collaborate with clients, suppliers, and vendors.
  • Undertake special projects as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • Strong skills in planning, organization, analysis, decision-making, leadership, interpersonal relations, negotiation, and both oral and written communication.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of production management computer systems.
  • Proficient in using PCs within the current company operating system environment.
  • Completion of an APICS program or equivalent courses, with eligibility for CPIM certification.
  • Several years of experience in production planning and control.
  • In-depth knowledge of records management and documentation control.
  • Familiarity with company instructions, processes, unit build standards, temporary overhaul data revisions, and original equipment manufacturer manuals.
  • Experience in administration/records management or a technical role related to technical documentation.
