Major Projects Legal Counsel

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Major Projects Legal Counsel to join our Commercial Risk Governance group. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting the delivery of complex projects and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and negotiate contracts and other legal documentation to ensure alignment with Stantec's business objectives.
  • Support project teams in identifying and managing risks, and develop strategies to mitigate potential issues.
  • Assist in the development and review of formal project documentation, including notices and responses to claims and disputes.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Commercial Risk Governance to review and develop resources, templates, and reference materials.
Requirements:
  • Strong business and commercial acumen, with a deep understanding of alternative project delivery methods.
  • Excellent contract review and negotiation skills, with the ability to analyze complex legal documents.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with project teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
