Position Overview:

Under the direction of the Engineering Superintendent, the Principal Mining Engineer plays a crucial role in the revitalization strategy for Mine Beaufor, while offering essential support across various departments. This position demands a flexible professional who is eager to collaborate across multiple disciplines to meet organizational goals.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of medium and long-range operational plans;
  • Facilitate effective communication and information exchange with short-term operational strategies;
  • Collect vital data to formulate diverse mining scenarios and assess associated costs;
  • Oversee the field control initiative and rock mechanics in partnership with the engineering superintendent;
  • Develop, adjust, and refresh field support estimates in accordance with excavation advancements;
  • Meet established timelines while ensuring adherence to project deliverables;
  • Manage priorities and authorize production and development strategies;
  • Perform regular underground assessments;
  • Evaluate mining-related challenges and propose actionable solutions;
  • Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reports;
  • Conduct research and implement enhancements to improve underground operations;
  • Uphold rigorous health and safety standards;
  • Foster a constructive work atmosphere;
  • Execute any other related duties as required.
