Role Summary:
The School Bus Monitor plays a vital role in maintaining the safety and well-being of passengers during transit. This position involves overseeing daily operations, assisting drivers, and ensuring a secure environment for all students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Familiarize yourself with the designated route and remain vigilant to ensure the safety of passengers throughout the journey.
- Communicate any behavioral issues or relevant conditions at various stops to the driver.
- Assist in conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus.
- Support students during the loading and unloading process to ensure their safety.
- Collaborate effectively with school staff, students, and parents.
- Attend all required safety and training meetings.
- Conduct emergency evacuations from the bus, utilizing emergency exits as necessary.
- Operate service doors and navigate steps multiple times throughout the day.
- Maintain cleanliness within the bus.
