About the Role

The Cape Breton Regional Hospital (CBRH) in Sydney, Nova Scotia, is actively seeking a dedicated full-time Anesthesiologist. This role is open for immediate commencement for qualified candidates holding Royal College Canada certification and eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia. The successful candidate will collaborate with a team of seven Anesthesiologists, providing care to a diverse population exceeding 150,000 in the Cape Breton Regional Municipality and adjacent areas.

Cape Breton Regional Hospital is a 250-bed tertiary care facility offering a comprehensive range of medical services to patients in the Eastern Zone of the Nova Scotia Health Authority. The Anesthesiology department is well-equipped to deliver specialized care across various medical needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive anesthetic care to patients within the Eastern Zone, including participation in on-call duties.
  • Report to the Zone Department Head of Anesthesia regarding professional responsibilities and quality of practice, adhering to the Medical Staff Bylaws of the Nova Scotia Health Authority.
Qualifications
  • Eligibility for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC).
  • Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS).
  • Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA).
