This role will involve close collaboration with various departments and leadership to ensure that communication strategies are in harmony with the organization's goals, enhancing visibility and promoting the mission of The Salvation Army.

SUPERVISORY FUNCTIONS: none

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Engage with different teams within The Salvation Army to identify their communication and marketing requirements, develop creative concepts and budget proposals, and ensure the effective implementation of these initiatives.
  • Research, compose, and refine engaging content for various platforms including social media, websites, newsletters, publications, and press announcements.
  • Oversee the management of marketing and communication assets across multiple channels such as print, digital advertising, email, and public relations; suggest improvements for enhanced outcomes and efficiency.
  • Contribute to the development of impactful marketing strategies that align with the organization's strategic objectives, maximizing outreach and engagement.
  • Foster positive relationships with external partners and service providers for marketing purposes.
  • Lead social media efforts for The Salvation Army and manage the online presence of associated groups.
  • Provide media training and guidance during challenging situations.
  • Supervise website upkeep, collaborate with service providers for enhancements, analyze performance data, and ensure the content is consistently updated and relevant.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Clear criminal record check.
  • Strong commitment to integrating faith and service in a community-focused environment.
  • Proven ability to embody and promote organizational values in the workplace.
  • A minimum of three years of comprehensive experience in marketing and communications.
  • A degree or diploma in Marketing or Creative Communications (relevant experience will be considered).
  • Strong project management capabilities, including budgeting and adherence to timelines.
  • Highly organized with exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Demonstrated teamwork abilities and leadership in dynamic settings.
  • Proficiency in social media management, website analytics, and current trends.

PREFERRED SKILLS/CAPABILITIES:

  • Experience in graphic design.
  • Proficiency in photography.
