Position Overview
Thales is seeking a Marine Maintenance Supervisor to manage the planning, execution, and completion of Work Period activities on designated vessels. This role entails overseeing the integrated schedule and worksite during structured work periods, coordinating both internal and external teams (including customers, contractors, and strategic partners) throughout all phases of the work period. The Marine Maintenance Supervisor directs and monitors all activities to ensure successful completion while preparing and delivering regular reports on schedule progress, costs, and risks. This position reports to the Ship Maintenance Team Lead.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead project planning activities to ensure a smooth transition from project initiation to closure.
- Execute, monitor, and control each project until its completion.
- Serve as the primary contact for all stakeholders regarding maintenance execution on the vessels.
- Supervise Thales personnel and subcontractors to achieve agreed outcomes within their delegated authorities.
- Coordinate and conduct all necessary activities prior to the start of maintenance execution, including subcontractor kickoff meetings and authorization of purchase requisitions.
- Oversee all maintenance execution activities during designated periods to ensure material readiness objectives are met.
- Provide comprehensive project management support to the Coastal Ship Maintenance Team Lead to meet availability standards and Full Mission Capability under awarded contracts.
- Manage maintenance and/or ad-hoc tasks during designated work periods within agreed timelines.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental legislative requirements and promote Thales's HS&E programs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 3-year technical diploma in a marine technical field from a recognized institution or certification as a technologist by a recognized licensing body.
- At least 8 years of demonstrated technical professional experience in project and team management, preferably in shipyard and naval environments.
- Familiarity with Defense Resource Management Information System (DRMIS) or similar document management systems is advantageous.
Physical Demands
- Schedule: 40 hours per week
- Physical Environment: Office or onboard naval vessels, requiring inspections including confined space entry.
- Travel: Occasional domestic or international travel may be necessary, including access to government facilities and naval vessels.
Compensation Transparency
The anticipated Total Target Compensation (TTC), inclusive of annual salary and bonus eligibility, for this role is 67,232.00 CAD annually. The company reserves the right to adjust compensation based on various factors.
