Job Summary

We are seeking qualified Occasional Teachers to join our team at the York Region District School Board. As an Occasional Teacher, you will have the opportunity to work in a variety of secondary schools, teaching a range of subjects and grade levels.

Qualifications and Experience

To be eligible for this position, you must hold an Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certificate and have a minimum of an Intermediate or Senior level teaching qualification. You should also have experience working in a secondary school setting and be familiar with the Ontario curriculum.

Selection Process

Applicants will be selected for an interview based on their qualifications, experience, and school preferences. Interviews will be conducted via Microsoft Teams and will include a panel of two Hiring Managers. Candidates will be shortlisted based on their suitability for the position and the needs of the school.

We require current and two most recent direct supervisors as references. If you are providing a Placement Teacher as a reference, we will require confirmation and approval from the Principal at the Placement School.
