Key Responsibilities- Operational Management
- Manage the overall operation of the farm, including planning, coordinating, and supervising farm activities.
- Develop and implement sustainable farming practices, such as crop rotation, reduced-till or no-till, water and nutrient management, precision farming technology, and cover crops.
- Ensure the efficient use of resources, including labor, equipment, and supplies.
- Animal Care and Management
- Develop and guide the behavior of farm animals, ensuring their health and well-being.
- Manage feed inventory activities, including purchasing and storing feed.
- Monitor animal health and administer first aid in emergency situations.
- Crop Management
- Coordinate planting and cultivating activities, including preparing soil, planting seeds, and applying fertilizers and pesticides.
- Develop a hoeing strategy for crops, ensuring optimal growth and yield.
- Direct agricultural crops clipping and deleafing activities.
- Financial Management
- Maintain financial and production records, including tracking expenses, income, and crop yields.
- Determine the amount and kinds of crops to be grown and livestock to be raised, based on market demand and farm resources.
- Human Resources
- Recruit, hire, and supervise staff and/or volunteers, ensuring a skilled and motivated team.
- Administer first aid in emergency situations.
- Transportation and Travel
- Valid driver's license required.
