Key Responsibilities
• Collaborate with enterprise teams to interpret and advise on security policies and technical standards, particularly in the realm of vulnerability management and secure configurations.
• Partner effectively with security and IT infrastructure teams to evaluate the potential impact of vulnerabilities within the organization and recommend suitable mitigating controls.
• Identify and propose effective strategies to manage and remediate vulnerabilities, focusing on minimizing risks to information assets in accordance with established policies and standards.
• Foster strong relationships with technical teams to advocate for best practices in vulnerability management, utilizing a risk-based methodology to prioritize activities based on vulnerability data and external information sources.
• Develop and enhance key performance indicators (KPIs), metrics, and trend analyses for vulnerability management initiatives.
• Assist in maintaining comprehensive documentation that outlines the Threat & Vulnerability Management Program, including policies and procedures.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in Vulnerability Management or a closely related area.
Technical Skills
• Proficient in vulnerability assessment tools such as Qualys, Nexpose, or Nessus, including their configuration, maintenance, and operational execution.
• Familiarity with industry standards related to Vulnerability Management, including Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE), Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS), and Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP).
• Knowledge of security standards and controls as outlined in various IT governance and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, HIPAA, PCI, GDPR, ISO 27001).
• Understanding of technology and security concepts encompassing operating systems, network security, protocols, application security, infrastructure hardening, and security baselines.
• Proficiency in scripting languages is desirable.
