This role performs technical work of a high level, encompassing both survey and materials testing disciplines. The incumbent audits technical work done by consultants and maintenance contractor staff, ensuring that work carried out is in accordance with department standards, procedures, and contract specifications.
Main Responsibilities- Provide technical support for the administration of highway maintenance contracts and monitor roadway development, ensuring the safety of the motoring public.
- Collect and manage highway appurtenance inventory data and assist with asset control.
- Support development control staff for the district and provide project management for smaller district contracts and service agreements.
- Develop creative and innovative solutions to complex maintenance problems, requiring flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to learn new skills.
This position requires a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. The incumbent must be able to learn new skills and adapt to new situations, with a focus on providing high-quality technical support and services.
