About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Kitchen Helper to join our team at HIDE-A-WAY CAFE. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our food service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Clean and sanitize items such as dishwasher mats, carts, and waste disposal units to maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment.
  • Dishwashing and Kitchen Tasks: Sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand, handle and store cleaning products, and receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas.
  • Garbage and Waste Management: Remove kitchen garbage and trash, and ensure that the kitchen is kept clean and free of clutter.
  • Floor Maintenance: Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
  • Food Preparation: Wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruit as needed for food preparation.
Support for Newcomers and Refugees
  • We offer support for newcomers and refugees through our participation in government and community programs that promote employment and integration.
