Senior Software Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our team at Huawei Technologies Canada Co., Ltd. This is a permanent position that requires a strong background in software development, particularly in distributed systems and high-performance computing.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and develop scalable and efficient algorithms for distributed database management systems.
- Collaborate with a team of architects and engineers to develop proof-of-concept systems and components.
- Investigate and design new data structures and algorithms to optimize performance on the latest hardware technology.
- Mentor junior colleagues on software engineering aspects and high-performance scalable code.
- Work with QA and continuous integration teams to ensure a quality solution through automated testing and system testing.
- Proficient in C and C++ programming languages.
- 5-10 years of experience in designing and developing distributed databases, storage systems, file systems, or cache systems.
- Experience in open source communities is an asset.
- Excellent documentation, organization, and communication skills.
- Self-motivated learner with a strong desire to learn on the job.
- Must be a team player.
- Bachelor or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
