About the Role:

As a key member of our Engineering team at People First Solutions, the Aftersales Applications Engineer will play a crucial role in specifying marine steering, propulsion, thruster, and stabilizer control systems in response to customer inquiries. This position requires a strong focus on safety, regulatory compliance, and operational requirements when generating project proposals and engineering diagrams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop technical proposals, complete installation of schematic arrangements, and engage in customer service activities, including troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, quality, and production teams, as well as vendors, related to the implementation of capital projects.
  • Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of engineering standard operating procedures and practices, conduct factory acceptance testing for electronic control systems.
  • Generate user manuals, data sheets, design specifications, and work instructions related to the suite of control products.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance in various geographic regions, as well as certification by class societies for electronic products and systems.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of electronics experience, preferably in the marine industry, with a strong understanding of complex systems and effective communication skills.
  • Knowledge and training in electronic controls are required, with experience in hydraulics being an asset.
  • Proficiency in Altium, Autocad, or Solidworks, as well as the Office 360 suite of software, and experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Experience in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals, with excellent communication skills.
  • A valid passport and willingness to travel, with occasional lifting up to 50 pounds required.
