Job Description

Job Title: Production Automation Director - Line Leader

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Production Automation Director - Line Leader to join our team at Bell. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for directing and assisting in the automation of television productions, ensuring seamless execution and high-quality output.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and assist in the automation of television productions, including preparing and producing shows for various broadcast productions.
  • Maintain equipment, software, and technical devices in good working order, ensuring they are ready to serve and functioning properly.
  • In the event of technical failure or broadcast interruption, perform substitutions or adjustments to maintain service continuity.
  • Coordinate production and presentation activities for shows.
  • Operate switching equipment, character generators, audio systems, Nexio systems, teleprompters, and other related technical equipment as needed and within regular rotation at the control room.
  • As needed, order broadcast lines and satellites, and coordinate external broadcasts.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in News & Sports production is a must.
  • Extensive knowledge of TV production, including switching, shot blocking, computerized still and animated graphic production, and news/sports format development.
  • Experience with automation systems in control rooms and studios.
  • Excellent computer skills, including knowledge of iNews or other NRCS.
  • Ability to work in a team, self-motivated, and committed to high production values in programming.
  • Proven creative and multitasking ability.
  • Superior planning, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience assisting live TV.

Additional Information:

This is a full-time position that requires working in an office setting. The successful candidate must be based in Canada and report to a set Bell office for a minimum of 3 days a week.
