Director, SustainabilityJob Summary
As the Director – Sustainability, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing sustainability strategies and initiatives that align with Intelcom's corporate goals.
Intelcom has committed to being net zero carbon by 2040, and in this role, you will shape and lead the organizational changes required to deliver our global sustainability strategy and foster a culture that supports our sustainability roadmap.
You will lead a collaborative, cross-functional team and play a pivotal role in promoting sustainability with internal and external stakeholders. You will report to the Vice President, Corporate Development & Sustainability.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Sustainability Strategy: Lead the development, prioritization, implementation, and oversight of Intelcom's decarbonization roadmap. This may include:
- Last-Mile Fleet Electrification: Develop and implement a comprehensive last-mile fleet electrification plan, accelerated via incentives and support programs.
- Sustainable Urban Logistics Solutions: Design and implement sustainable urban logistics solutions that reduce environmental impact.
- Sustainable First- and Middle-Mile Logistics Solutions: Develop and implement sustainable first- and middle-mile logistics solutions that minimize environmental footprint.
- Sustainable Real Estate Management Initiatives: Implement sustainable real estate management initiatives that reduce environmental impact.
- Integration of Sustainable Business Processes: Integrate sustainable business processes across the organization.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Lead the tracking and continuous assessment of the impact and progress of our sustainability initiatives, ensuring they meet established science-based targets.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders to promote sustainability practices and engage with external stakeholders as needed.
- Cultural Transformation: Help define and communicate purpose to drive transformation across the organization and influence key stakeholders through education, data-driven analyses, and compelling business cases.
- Sustainability Expertise: Maintain knowledge of the global sustainability landscape, including issues, best practices, regulations, and emerging trends.
Requirements
- 10-12+ years of increasing leadership experience and responsibilities in sustainability-related roles.
- Experience in the transportation and logistics industry is highly desirable.
- Bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Business, and/or Operations & Logistics; Master's degree preferred.
- Thorough understanding and application of sustainability standards and practices.
- Executive-level interaction and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-starter with proven success working in a matrix environment, influencing without direct authority, and leading large-scale, complex initiatives with diverse stakeholder groups.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Innovative thinking with strong business/financial acumen.
- Data-driven mindset.
- Ability to serve as an ambassador and spokesperson for Intelcom's sustainability efforts internally and externally.
- Willingness to travel for partner meetings, conferences, and other engagements (10%+).
