Caretaker III

This position is open to all CUPE employees. Preference will be granted in accordance with the Collective Agreement for CUPE local 1479 to permanent internal candidates. Temporary employees will have their applications considered prior to external advertisement.
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Caretaker III to join our team at the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our school facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain the building, grounds, and equipment in a satisfactory state of repair to minimize class disruption.
- Perform day-to-day services and activities necessary to keep the school at an acceptable level of cleanliness and safety.
- Operate various equipment, including hand tools, floor machines, and auto scrubbers.
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act, WHMIS, Fire Safety Standards, and security procedures.
- Work collaboratively with other staff members to achieve common goals.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent work-related experience.
- 1 to 2 years of caretaking experience.
- Knowledge of HVAC equipment and ability to perform routine maintenance tasks.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Ability to lift maximum 25 kg (55 lb).
