Key Responsibilities- Prepare and Clean Surfaces: Ensure that all surfaces are properly prepared and cleaned before painting, including sanding and repairing cracks and holes.
- Mix and Apply Paint: Mix paint to the desired color and texture, and apply it to interior and exterior surfaces using a variety of techniques.
- Advise Clients: Provide expert advice to clients on colors and wall coverings, helping them to make informed decisions about their painting projects.
- Erect Scaffolding and Rigging: Safely erect scaffolding and rigging to access high areas, and attach rigging to ensure stability.
- Estimate Costs and Materials: Accurately estimate the costs and materials required for each project, ensuring that we stay within budget.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field.
- Certifications: Occupational Health and Safety Certificate.
- Equipment and Machinery Experience: Airless spray equipment, brush painting, conventional spray painting, electrostatic applications equipment, multi-ratio pump spraying, patterned rollers, roller painting, thermal spray equipment.
- Testing Equipment Experience: Moisture gauges, sling psychrometer, thermometers, wet micron gauges, dry micron gauges.
- Surface Preparation Experience: Drywall taping/patching.
- Specialization or Experience: Specialized environmental skills and knowledge.
- Coating/Application Specialization: Paint spraying.
- Wood Finishing Specialization: Glazing.
- Wall Covering Specialization: Wallpaper, vinyl, wood veneers.
- Security and Safety: Driving record check (abstract).
- Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver's licence.
- Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Attention to detail, hand-eye co-ordination, ability to distinguish between colors, bending, crouching, kneeling, physically demanding.
- Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
- Personal Suitability: Client focus, efficient interpersonal skills, flexibility, initiative, reliability, team player.
