Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Service Technician to join our team at Bouchier. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and maintenance of our heavy equipment fleet.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct pre-trip safety inspections and complete daily field-level hazards assessments for all activities.
  • Operate a lube truck safely and efficiently.
  • Perform full services on all equipment, including changing filters, fluids, and taking samples as per maintenance schedules.
  • Check and adjust fluid levels of mobile mining equipment, including diesel, coolant, washer fluid, grease, and oil.
  • Check and adjust fluid levels of lighting plants, generators, mobile welding equipment, and air compressors and flameless heaters.
  • Apply grease with a manual pump to non-auto-lube locations, including refilling auto lubrication systems and filling manual grease point locations.
  • Proactively observe repairs needed and report any unsafe conditions.
  • Deliver fuel and lube to various equipment.
  • Perform minor repairs to grease points.
  • Keep accurate logs of fuel and lube distribution to each unit.
  • Track and maintain inventory of service kits, lubes, oils, and other supplies.
  • Coordinate equipment service activities efficiently and effectively.
  • Lead by example in both safety and production for the team, ensuring compliance with all company, client, and legislated safety policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous service technician experience is required.
  • Minimum one-year open pit mining experience.
  • Minimum two years' experience in equipment servicing.
  • Minimum of Class 5 driver's license with 'Q' endorsement and a clean driver's abstract.
  • CSTS and OSSA Regional Orientation or OSSA BSO (Basic Safety Orientation before December 31, 2018) or CSO (Common Safety Orientation after January 1, 2019).
  • Ability to work alone with minimal supervision or as part of a team.
  • Ability to work at heights.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write fluently in English.
