Daily Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for machining parts from aero derivative gas turbine engines and their associated modules to support repair and maintenance operations. The primary focus will be on restoring and refurbishing gas turbine components. You will operate various machines including Vertical Turning Lathes (VTL), traditional lathes, taper reamers, and drilling equipment. Safety and quality assurance will be paramount in all tasks, ensuring a strong emphasis on customer satisfaction.

Key Contributions

  • Interpret technical schematics and configure production machinery accordingly.
  • Execute repairs on gas turbine components through precise machining techniques.
  • Perform taper reaming on turbine discs and shafts.
  • Polish gas turbine blades and valves to eliminate oxidation and other imperfections.
  • Conduct minor repairs, including the extraction of seized bolts and fittings, as well as the removal of abradable liners on seals.
  • Undertake additional related tasks as directed, ensuring safety and compliance.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to create new repair protocols.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a trade school diploma in Machining or Mechanical Assembly.
  • A recognized aeronautics certificate from the Ministry of Education is advantageous.
  • Commitment to quality and accountability for outcomes.
  • Demonstrated self-sufficiency and problem-solving skills.
  • A strong inclination towards innovation and improvement.
