Linux Systems Engineer II Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Linux Systems Engineer II to join our team at Best Buy. As a key member of our IT infrastructure team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our Linux-based systems and storage infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement best practice solutions for Linux and storage infrastructure
  • Provide technical expertise on Linux and storage infrastructure requirements and best practices
  • Develop and maintain technical documents and project requirements
  • Provide operational support with a focus on task automation and infrastructure as a code
  • Act as a DevOps resource, providing improvements and automating tasks and processes
  • Contribute to the development of environment and change documentation, as well as standard operating practice documents
  • Participate in sprint planning meetings and leverage technical expertise to resolve technical impediments
Requirements:
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Linux family (Redhat/Centos/Ubuntu)
  • Strong knowledge and experience with storage infrastructure (Netapp/Pure)
  • Experience writing automated deployment and configuration management scripts and assets
  • Experience with multi-datacenter architectures in a hybrid environment
