Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Health Information Processing Clerk to join our team at Vernon Jubilee Hospital in Kamloops, BC. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for performing clerical duties related to patient information, secretarial support for managers and physicians, and quantitative analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct quantitative analysis to ensure accuracy of patient records
  • Monitor and maintain electronic tracking systems for deficient patient charts
  • Provide secretarial support for managers and physicians, including typing technical and non-technical material
  • Retrieve, organize, and file patient records, reports, and other documents
  • Answer inquiries regarding patient information in accordance with legislative statutes and established policies
  • Perform data entry functions for clinical registries and databases
  • Assist physicians in completing patient documentation
  • Provide reception duties, including answering phones, transferring calls, and directing visitors
Requirements
  • Current 5 Minute Typing Test with a speed of 55 wpm or greater, completed within the past 48 months from a recognized institution
  • Proof of completion of a Medical Terminology Course
  • Two years of recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • A Cover Letter stating availability to start in a new position and willingness to work on-call and casual shifts
