Job Title: Accounting Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Manager to join our team at Cooper Equipment Rentals. As an Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for leading the accounting team and overseeing the financial operations of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the month-end close process and implement process improvements to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Manage the financial statement audit process and ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards.
  • Prepare and review various balance sheet account reconciliations, obtain detailed transactions, and investigate and correct reconciling items.
  • Utilize analytical review techniques to review journal entries, account activity, and account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and identify discrepancies or errors.
  • Prepare various monthly financial reports and ad-hoc reports to support business decisions.
  • Ensure the implementation of accounting and internal control policies, procedures, and practices to enable the preparation of financial statements.
  • Manage new projects that add value to the organization.
  • Respond to internal or external requests or inquiries.

Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent in Finance or Accounting.
  • Accounting designation is required.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in an accounting managerial role.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of audit experience.
  • Previous experience in a related field and knowledge of rental construction equipment is an asset.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles, and financial reporting standards.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel & Power BI.
  • Prior experience with Texada and Blackline will be an asset.
  • Proficient with full-cycle accounting.
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team setting.
  • Strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills and a willingness to take initiative.
  • Ability to apply a high level of accuracy and be very detail-oriented.
