Job Title: Sr Principal Engineer

Albin Engineering Services, Inc. is seeking a highly experienced Sr Principal Engineer to lead the development of AI/ML infrastructure platform solutions. This is a 100% remote position with opportunities for international travel.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement complex AI/ML infrastructure platform solutions, leading a multi-disciplined team to bring them to fruition.
  • Establish and maintain close technical relationships with suppliers/partners on product roadmaps and technologies.
  • Lead RFQ technical responses and platform concept development efforts as necessary.
  • Provide effective trade-off analysis and competitive guidance to engineering teams and customers.
  • Deliverables include System Requirements Documents (SRD), requirement compliance assessments, and Technical proposals.
  • Act as a primary technical interface between the company and customers, particularly in technical escalation.
  • Support business development teams in winning new business.
  • Participate in the selection and hiring of design team resources as required.
  • Identify and champion process improvement efforts as needed.
  • Participate in standards committees and industry groups as assigned.
  • Prepare and present technical presentations to customers, industry groups, tradeshows, etc.
  • Maintain current on industry trends and future technology and market opportunities.
Requirements:
  • 15+ years of Server and/or AI/ML accelerator hardware design experience.
  • 5 years of AI Infrastructure system design experience.
  • Experience with Nvidia, AMD, Intel, or other modern GPU accelerators and support systems.
  • Successful experience architecting and delivering server/storage/converged products to market.
  • Excellent customer presentation skills, with experience interacting with large OEM customers.
  • A broad knowledge of current digital and analogue components.
  • Successful New Product Introduction (NPI) launch.
  • Extensive knowledge of system level power, cooling, mechanical, SW/FW and electrical design integration and engineering trade-offs.
Desired Skills:
  • Prior participation in industry groups and associations.
  • System level integration, interoperability and test experience.
  • System level manufacturing test experience.
Travel:
  • International travel required, approximately 4-6 trips per year.
  • Domestic travel to support customer and internal meetings as required.

This is a remote position, with travel as necessary. We are open to considering candidates close to any of our US locations or major airports.
