About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Culinary Specialist to join our team at Marcello's Market & Deli. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals and individual dishes, ensuring the highest standards of quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Cooking: Prepare and cook complete meals and individual dishes, following established recipes and presentation standards.
  • Kitchen Maintenance: Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and organization, and maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
  • Staff Training and Development: Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food, and provide guidance and support to ensure consistent quality and presentation.
  • Supply Chain Management: Order supplies and equipment as needed, and maintain relationships with vendors to ensure timely delivery and competitive pricing.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of food, supplies, and equipment, and ensure that inventory levels are adequate to meet customer demand.
  • Cleanliness and Safety: Clean kitchen and work areas, and maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Physical Demands: Fast-paced environment, handling heavy loads, physically demanding, repetitive tasks, standing for extended periods, and working under pressure.
  • Personal Suitability: Client focus, dependability, flexibility, initiative, organized, reliability, and team player.
Working Conditions

This is a permanent, full-time position, working 40 hours per week. The work language is English.
