Position Overview

We are seeking a committed Personal Support Worker to provide essential care and assistance to our residents in a nursing home environment. This role is vital in ensuring the comfort and well-being of our clients.

Employment Details
  • Work Term: Permanent
  • Work Language: English
  • Hours: 75 hours bi-weekly
  • Education: Completion of a college, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma program lasting between 3 months to less than 1 year
  • Experience: Previous experience is considered an asset
Work Environment

This position is based in a nursing home or home for the aged, where you will engage with residents daily.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with personal hygiene and grooming
  • Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
  • Support residents during meal times, including serving and feeding
  • Help with mobility by lifting, turning, and positioning residents
  • Maintain cleanliness in residents' rooms and common areas
  • Transport residents using wheelchairs or stretchers
  • Collect medical specimens as required
  • Administer first aid in emergency situations
  • Provide companionship and emotional support
  • Perform light housekeeping duties
  • Launder clothing and linens
