About the Role

The Government of the Northwest Territories is seeking a highly skilled Strategic Policy Analyst to join our team in Yellowknife. As a key member of the Sustainability Unit, you will play a critical role in advancing the government's lands-related interests and providing expert advice on land use and management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement lands policies and initiatives, as well as program/operational policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Assist in the formulation of criteria and setting objectives for desired policy outcomes, consistent with the government's strategic initiatives.
  • Prepare support materials for the Minister, including briefing notes and policy proposals.
  • Coordinate land use and management research and policy development on behalf of the government and the Northwest Territories.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in environmental/resource management, land use planning, geography, public policy, public administration, or a related field.
  • Three years of experience in policy and program development and analysis, with project management experience considered an asset.
