Position Overview

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 1 to less than 7 months of relevant experience is preferred.
Work Environment

The position is based in a child care center, where you will collaborate with early childhood educators to enhance the learning experience for children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in bathing, diapering, and feeding infants and toddlers.
  • Help develop and implement child-care programs that foster the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social growth of children.
  • Engage children through storytelling, singing, and organizing activities.
  • Support early childhood educators in maintaining records and managing supplies.
  • Observe children for any signs of developmental or behavioral issues and prepare reports as necessary.
  • Facilitate a safe and healthy environment by preparing snacks and arranging spaces for rest and meals.
  • Participate in staff meetings to discuss children's progress and challenges.
  • Build collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers.
Working Conditions

This role may involve repetitive tasks and is physically demanding, requiring attention to detail and a combination of sitting, standing, and walking. Manual dexterity is essential.

Certifications

A Child Development Assistant (ECE Level 1) certification is required for this position.

Transportation

Public transportation options are available for commuting.

Work Hours

This is a permanent position with a commitment of 30 to 40 hours per week.
