Job Summary

Genesee & Wyoming Canada Inc. is seeking a skilled Locomotive Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our diesel locomotives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on locomotives, including inspections, cleaning, and testing of air brakes and other critical systems.
  • Conduct periodic service on locomotives, including oil changes, turbo inspections, and fueling.
  • Replace locomotive and diesel engine components, including wheels, trucks, traction motors, and other critical parts.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.
  • Collaborate with other team members to achieve maintenance goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; diploma in electro-mechanics or diesel mechanics an asset.
  • Previous experience as a locomotive mechanic or in a related field highly desirable.
  • Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver's license required.
