About the Role:

Arterra Wines Canada, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Quality Control Lab Technician to join our team. As a Quality Control Lab Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of our products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct quality control tests and analyses on products, ingredients, and production processes to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures and protocols to improve product quality and reduce defects.
  • Collaborate with production teams to identify and resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results.
  • Develop and maintain quality control records and reports to track product quality and identify trends.
  • Participate in internal audits and quality control meetings to ensure compliance with company quality standards.
  • Develop and implement training programs for production staff on quality control procedures and protocols.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and improve product quality.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in a technical/scientific field (Chemistry, Microbiology, or Food Science preferred).
  • Strong understanding of quality control principles and practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 20kg periodically and spend most of the day walking/standing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Leadership skills and experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of quality control software and systems.
  • Internal Auditor, HACCP, ISO9001, ISO17025, or other QMS FSMS qualifications.
  • Formal Continuous Improvement training (e.g. Lean or Lean Six Sigma).
