About Your Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our team at Tigera, Inc. in Vancouver. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying cloud-native applications and infrastructure securely and at scale.

Our team is highly engineering-focused, with a culture that values diversity, collaboration, agility, and innovation. We are working on open-source networking and security projects that define the new gold standard for application connectivity within large-scale cloud environments, such as Kubernetes, Docker, and related technologies.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be working on tasks as part of release sprints, enhancing and building new functionality in Golang, and taking responsibility for the entire development process of the features you are working on, including design, coding, testing, and releasing to production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop cloud-native applications and infrastructure using Golang and other relevant technologies
  • Collaborate with the team to identify and prioritize features and tasks
  • Develop and maintain high-quality code, following best practices and coding standards
  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to team members
  • Work with the team to resolve technical issues and improve the overall quality of the codebase
Requirements
  • 8+ years of product-oriented software engineering experience
  • Experience with distributed systems development and cloud-native technologies
  • Hands-on experience with backend development languages like Golang, C, C++, Java, NodeJs, Python, etc.
  • A drive to get things done in a highly collaborative, agile development environment
  • A BS in CS or related/similar degree (equivalent experience may suffice)
Nice-to-Have
  • Past experience with using or building tools for vulnerability scanning and management
  • Any knowledge around security posture management, especially within Kubernetes
  • Any experience with configuration security tools such as Kubescape
  • Experience with one or more of the following areas and technologies: Kubernetes, Docker/containers, Networking
  • Experience developing, securing, or operating cloud-scale applications or infrastructure
  • Ability to travel occasionally to attend conferences and to work with partners, customers, and colleagues in other offices

Vancouver Salary Range: CAD $125,000 to CAD $150,000

This is a hybrid role based in Vancouver, with occasional travel required.
