Working closely with the dietary team, you will be responsible for menu planning, meal preparation, and maintaining a sanitary kitchen atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with dietary guidelines and menu specifications
  • Ensure meals are served promptly and appropriately
  • Assist in meal service while respecting residents' food preferences
  • Comply with food safety and sanitation standards
  • Collaborate with dietary staff on menu development
  • Assist in managing food costs, waste, and procurement
  • Oversee food inventory and manage supply orders
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen
  • Support special events and catering as required
Qualifications
  • Completion or enrollment in a Food Service Worker Program
  • Chef/Cook Certification is preferred
  • Valid Food Handler's Certificate is mandatory
  • Experience in cooking for seniors or within a healthcare environment is advantageous
  • Recent Vulnerable Sector Check is necessary
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required
