Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Healthcare Support Specialist to join our team at Home and Community Care Support Services. As a key member of our patient services team, you will provide administrative support to our care coordinators, ensuring that patients receive prompt and effective customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support services to care coordinators, including processing new referrals, orders for services, supplies, and equipment.
  • Process and assist in managing confidential patient records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Enter, update, and maintain a high volume of patient data in our electronic database, utilizing database software and other applications.
  • Answer a high volume of telephone inquiries from patients, families, and service providers, providing timely and accurate information and referrals as needed.
  • Provide backup support to other positions as required, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
  • A college diploma in the health or social services field, or business/office administration, is preferred.
  • 2+ years of related office experience, with a strong background in healthcare administration.
  • Accurate keyboarding/data-entry skills, with proficiency in database software, MS Word, and Excel.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to work with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Advanced multi-tasking skills, with the ability to meet performance and service goals in a dynamic environment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of a team and interact tactfully and sensitively with patients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including strong listening skills.
  • Flexibility to work a schedule that includes days, evenings, and weekends to meet organizational needs.
