The Software Category Management Expert serves as a pivotal resource and authority on software across various sectors, including Security, Infrastructure, and Data, applicable to all industries. This role is tailored for individuals who possess a strong enthusiasm for Research, IT/Tech, and project ownership. The position demands a tactical and detail-oriented approach while also fostering innovation within the team, continuously seeking enhancements in the management of software listings. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, sustain, and expand our extensive portfolio of over 370 software categories.
  • Conduct research and maintain our software listings, nurturing relationships with over 200 analysts and experts who specialize in key IT technologies, while overseeing category health and data collection metrics.
  • Create new categories and provide insights and recommendations for necessary feature modifications or adjustments to existing software listings.
  • Utilize both internal and external data sources to construct credible representations of software categories.
  • Collaborate with analysts to ensure adequate call coverage and support for member inquiries.
  • Enhance communication with Sales, Research, and Data Operations teams by sharing feedback on the technology marketplace.
  • Coordinate all award launches, segmentation requests, vendor investigations, or data refresh requests for assigned categories.

Required Skills:

  • Proven ability to effectively manage a diverse array of complex software categories with ongoing re-prioritization.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of conveying information clearly and persuasively across various formats and departments.
  • Exceptional capability to synthesize large volumes of information from data collection initiatives and make strategic adjustments.
  • Strategic and systematic evaluation of emerging opportunities and threats related to data collection and category credibility.
  • A proactive approach to learning and innovation, consistently seeking new solutions for data collection and marketing.

Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in market research, product management, project management, or related marketing roles, with a strong interest in Technology/IT.
  • Familiarity with data analysis and technology market research.
  • Working knowledge of IT software applications, particularly those related to front office tools (e.g., Salesforce, campaign management, CRM, sales enablement, customer success, marketing/sales analytics).
