Position Overview

Position Title: Laboratory Technician, Biology

Salary Range: $28.67 per hour (with potential increments up to $32.01 per hour)

Position Type: Support Staff - Regular

Employment Type: Part-Time

Job Responsibilities

The primary role involves providing essential technical and logistical support within the Biology laboratory. This includes preparing materials, activities, and displays in accordance with the Biology faculty's curriculum requirements.

Key Duties
  1. Material Preparation: Research, select, and prepare various materials and displays for laboratory use.
  2. Technical Assistance: Aid in testing experiments and assist with lab examination preparations, including setup and cleanup.
  3. Equipment Maintenance: Coordinate the upkeep and management of laboratory equipment and supplies, ensuring everything is in proper working order.
  4. Compliance and Safety: Maintain adherence to safety regulations and manage chemical inventories responsibly.
Qualifications
  • Proficient in English, both written and verbal.
  • Strong understanding of laboratory equipment and safety protocols.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and courteously.
